Hey guys! I am just wondering if it's possible to calculate my GPA according to the ADSAS system without signing up for it? I am just curious how my current GPA is like according to the system.

As far as I know, you have to complete your application and e-submit it before AADSAS calculates your GPAs...you might want to calculate your GPA on your own.

what kinda of GPAs do they calculate? is it like what you have in your sig?

Cumulative, Bio/Chem/Physics, and Science?

wouldnt the cumulative and science just be exactly what you already had from school? or no?

and exactly what counts as Bio/Chem/Physics? what about upper level Chemistry like Physical Chemistry.. is that counted towards BCP?

thanks.

Yes, I calculated mine and it came out exactly the same as AADSAS. Last year they had a GPA calculation sheet where they had a bunch of courses listed and they put an asterik next to the ones that would be included in BCP, Science, etc. So, you could figure it out from that sheet. But, I don't know where it went. It used to be on AADSAS's site but is no longer there. Maybe you could contact AADSAS and ask...

The GPAs they calculate at AADSAS are:
1) Biology,
2) Chemistry,
3) Physics,
4) BCP (Bio, Chem, and Physics combined)
5) Science
6) Non-science
7) Cumulative

They calculate all aspects of your GPA to see where your strengths and weaknesses are, I believe.

You're right that your cumulative should be the same as your transcript from school. If you've taken summer classes at another school, those grades are figured into your GPAs too.

I'm pretty sure that upper level science classes count towards your science GPA. I think Math classes also count towards your science GPA (I'm not sure).

I hope that answered your question 🙂

Hi:

I attached the course codes from last year's application cycle. It should help you out with rough GPA calculations. I know for a fact that some of the courses have changed their categories (Emergency Medicine for example). Just make sure you keep that in mind when you do your calculations.

* means science from what I remember
** means Biology, Chemistry, Physics from what I remember

It all comes down to using your judgement though.

Again, this is last year's info, I just took a .pdf of it because I know aadsas' website is not user friendly and the info can be hard to find.

If anyone knows of the current application cycle GPA course list be sure to post it!

Hey thanks alot for that, it was very helpful.. I guess I'll play around with my transcript and figure some of this stuff out sometime. 😀

Anyone know if engineering courses are claculated into the mix?

woo hoo!!!

Thanks for posting that PDF file. I looked, and electrical engineering courses are indeed calculated into my science GPA.
