Here's the problem: while a lot of programs, especially MD, seem to consider neurology a core rotation, my DO program does not. I'd like to do a neurology rotation in my fourth year, as one of my electives, but I'd rather not do it at my own program. (For geographical reasons, mainly, nothing against the neuro department). Anyone know of any sites in the NYC-area that take visiting students for core rotations like this? All I've been finding are neuro electives that require completion of a neuro core rotation.

I know I'm not the only one in my class having this problem, so any suggestions would be appreciated by several of us in the same boat.

You should be able to satisfy the "core" requirement by doing the neuro elective at your home program prior to doing an away elective. The away electives are thought of as auditions for a residency spot and you really do not want to walk into one without any neuro experience.
