Ok I have a question, this might be dumb but does any one in dental school have problems with having big hands? Also is there any way to improve your fine motor skills? Do all of you have incredible dexterity? I guess I only get nervous about this aspect of dentistry I am probably over reacting. Thanks for your time

although small hands has a greater advantage, you don't necessary need small hands to practice dentistry. my two bosses has large hands and they have no problem doing what they do. so its definately doable. as for practice manual dexterity, pretty much and anything involving workign with your hands will sharpen your hand skills. working on cars, drawing, ceramics, hell even video games. its a skills that some people has naturally, but i think its a skill that can can be develop.

Yea I have great manual dexterity honed over the years. I prob. got more hours logged on video games than studying, work on my car, been playin guitar for 2 years. Anything helps. Even posting on SDN requires typing, even further enhancing your manual dex. 🙄

Here's the best way to improve your manual dexterity: Play Halo 2.
