Finish all EK 1001 practise books?

I've heard of a few people completing all of the EK 1001 series, but not many. Most people usually do every other or every third problem. Then if they're especially weak in an area, they do the entire set of problems for that section. I think the EK 1001 series is great for nailing down the basics. It will probably help someone get into the 9-10 range pretty easily if they review their TIMED practice afterwards. Once you get above the 10 range, most of the EK 1001 is not as useful, but still good. Even with a score above 10, you'd be surprised at how much EK 1001 can help. I think it helped push my score a couple points higher. Give them a shot.

the good thing about the 1001 series is that they have everything organized by topic and if you are having problems in a certain area, it would be relatively easy for you to sit there and find problems for you to do. the bad part about the books is that they aren't really mcat type questions; they usually have the same questions with a couple different words and is essentially thus the same questions. the answers also aren't that detailed (depending on the book) and are just one line answers.

For physics and gen chem I usually go through them every fourth question for each lecture as I cover the lecture in the main book. I'll probably go through it twice so I'll get roughly half the questions done.

1001 Orgo is worthless.

1001 Bio is awesome. I'll do three passages at a time combined with the standalone questions that follow, and time myself for 30 minutes. Works out to be about half the length of the real thing, so its good for pacing yourself.

I did every problem in EK1001Qs for biology & o-chem, and close to all the problems for physics & gen chem (there were maybe about less than 10 or so probs for each that I got stuck on & didn't get around to doing.). Got sort of winded midway through EK1001 for verbal.

Anyway, I found the 1001Qs to be quite helpful for biology especially. O-chem book was just easy so it was a breeze. There were some really difficult probs especially in the physics book and I also thought the gen chem book was a drag to wade through... but maybe that's just 'cuz I suck at gen chem so it wasn't as fun.
