Hello all,
Currently have 4 years in the Navy (non-medical) with 3 years left on my contract. I am working on a degree in computer science but decided the medical field was where I wanted to be. I am currently taking classes online at UMGC (formerly UMUC) due to the classes being 100% online and having very military-friendly class schedules. However, it seems as if they don't offer most of the pre-req courses most med schools require.
Can anybody lurking on these forums point me in the direction of any online schools that would satisfy all the pre-reqs that most schools require (USU for example)? Thanks!
P.s. with my military training I have all of my electives and a few gen-ed requirements knocked out, so i think 3 years is more than enough time to knock out the second half of the degree and pre-reqs prior to my EAOS if I really hammer it out.
Do medical schools look down on those that solely complete their degree online? Would it increase my chances just to wait until I EAOS and finish up college in an actual physical domain? Does it not matter as much as getting a strong GPA and MCAT score? Sorry for the essay of questions. Very new to this community, just trying to bang it all out now so I can get on the right track.
