Graduating nursing school May 2015. Going back in Fall 2015 to start pre-reqs.

My overall GPA is 3.13. I know that is going to be my biggest issue that I need to fix.

Question: Would you advise going to an easier (smaller) college in hopes of getting better grades (3.7) or would you go to a larger well known college and lesser grades (3.4-3.5) but more well known.

Larger college is where all of my previous course work has been done.

Grades
Bio1- B
lab- B
Bio2- C
lab- B

Chem1- C
Chem2- A
lab- C
Org 1- dropped over summer

GPA before nursing school cumulative 3.22
Nursing school 3.05
All classes taken- 3.13

I don't really think the college matters. I graduated with a degree in music before deciding to pursue a medical career. I completed my pre-reqs at Cleveland State University because I could live at home for free and it was relatively cheap. CSU is pretty unknown and a decent school, but not fabulous. Got into several MD schools. As long as you ace your classes, I really don't think adcoms will care. But you really need to get that gpa up, which I'm sure you know...

Thank you for the reply @mbeus

It is tricky to me because the larger school would allow me to stay at home for free but the smaller school would require me to spend more money (housing, etc).
So then the question becomes "Would you spend more money to go to a smaller school for a potential better grade?"
At this point I think it may make more sense to stay at home and go to the larger school. On the other hand if I lived near the smaller school I would be more inclined to go there like you said.

You can get good grades wherever you go, if you apply yourself and don't waste your time. I would go to the cheaper school and ace my classes.
