Firefox 3.5 and AMCAS

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You could also get Safari 4 and use its developer mode to simulate any browser you want.

You could just use the User Agent Switcher: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59

Basically, you can use it to make your browser appear to be a different version (or browser altogether) than it actually is. It's kind of a pain, but the geek in me won't let me avoid using 3.5 due to AMCAS. They'll undoubtedly adjust their filter soon.

edit: *shakes fist at Andy... ya beat me

I used the User Agent Switcher extension (as the previous posters mentioned) to complete my AMCAS -- no problems at all. Set it to "Internet Explorer 7."

As an aside: the new IE is TERRIBLE! Wow, have I never worked with a worse browser! The hospital I research at just switched over to it, and I just want to go home and cozy up with firefox.

FYI- Throughout this whole process, make sure to read the "required/recommended browser" info on your secondarys' instructions. For the most part you can get them done using anything, but there was one secondary I filled out in firefox, saved it, went to IE (the recommended one) to double-check...and nothing was there. Totally blank. Glad I checked 😉

A ripple of fear just went through SDN.

It is amazing how they still haven't fixed this. I emailed about it last year and they basically told me to shut up and that they were aware of the problem and would fix it for the next cycle.
