Hey I went to an "information session" at Roseman(USN) last night and the guy mentioned that schools arent allowed to accept students until Dec. 1st. I am just curious if this is true or not. Thanks!

True. Schools participating in AADSAS agree not to send notifications earlier than December 1. It's like Christmas Eve come 11/30.

For most years, this is correct. On years where Dec 1st falls on Saturday or Sunday, they will allow the schools to notify on the Friday before (either Nov 30th or 31st) on those years.

If we're going to get super technical, then I'll remind you there is no Nov 31st.

I can't wait til next Dec 1st already.

Will celebrate with this regardless of good/bad news.

doesn't this only refer to the actual acceptance letter? i have heard of schools calling applicants to let them know to expect the letter in the mail on december 1st (or november 30th depending on the year).

I don't know. It's some sort of mutual agreement they've all made. I've heard some stories (that area likely all SDN-style made up trash) about people being told they should be expecting an acceptance during the interview (not sure how one interviewer can just give you the thumbs up when there is a committee involved) or tried to give a sort of wink-wink nudge-nudge that acceptance was happening.

It's true, and it's the DUMBEST rule ever! I honestly don't get it...so stupid.
