I bught the First aid for the Basic sciences 2nd edition (the newer one) and I fixed all the errata through the first aid website. I must say I actually enjoy reading this book compared to the First aid 2013 book which feels like random facts.

My 2nd year is Organ based and I saw that the First aid for basic sciences Organ system is designed that same exact way.

I got the errata from first aid website for the First aid for the basic sciences Organ system. Do you guys think it's worth buying?

I would like to hear from people with previous experience thanks!

FA for the boards is a review book. These others are more content driven. There are far far better resources out there. But if you like them and feel the depth is sufficient, go for it.

Other resources are much much longer. I mean damn one subject book can be 300-400 pages the same size as this entire review book.

i'm using it right now for my school's cumulative exam I think it is a very nice book.

Ever think there's a reason the other books are that long?...

because they are reference books?

Reference books aren't 300 pages long. Reference books, like Harrison's, are usually 1000+. I'm talking about Costanzo BRS Phys and Goljan RR Path.

I'm not saying it's a bad book. I'm just saying it's not really in depth/complete enough for most med school curricula, which is what OP asked. Maybe it's good enough for your school. Wasn't for the people who used it at mine.

BRS phys and Goljan Path are both review books honey.

Clearly you have difficulty with reading. I said they are review books, *******. The OP called them reference books. My point is that single subject review books are 300 pages because THAT'S HOW MUCH INFO THERE IS. Reference books are thousands of pages for the same damn reason. Just because a book is conveniently short doesn't make it the perfect review. That is, unless you're ok with a 215 step 1 and passing shelf grades. It leaves out detail that is important for full understanding. There's no shortcut to learning all of this.

Also, cut the "honey" Bull****. 1) I'm a dude 2) I'm a resident who has read all of these books and been through all of this crap 3) you sound like a condescending ass when you say stupid ****.

I'm going to start using FA Organ Systems prior to hitting FA 2014 this January. Using Goljan RR on top which is approximately 600ish pages. I heard the newest iteration is 800+ pages which at that point is less of a review book and more of a substitute for Rubins (class is required to read this but I've been getting away with Goljan).

Now Pathoma... that is a true review with just the bare essentials. I use that on top of Goljan.
