For those of you who used first aid and have already taken the comlex:

If you know the pharmacology verbatim from first aid is that sufficient for the comlex pharmacology questions?

How important is studying true straight physiology for the comlex? It seems that pathophys-pathology rules the day.

Thanks 👍👍

In my experience the COMLEX pharm questions were reasonable and straightforward. The pharm in first aid is fairly decent and should have you covered. One thing that was very helpful for me was a chart that linked the antibiotic of choice with the organism.

On my COMLEX exam there were a lot of questions where you had to identify the organism based on presentation, choose the correct anitbiotic, and occasionally choose a seconday abx b/c of an allergy.

I used Sanford's, Johns Hopkins ABX guide, and Batlett's. It is a bit dated so there might be some changes. Right now the only copy I have is taped to my wall- I'll dig around to see if I have a typed copy and if so will send it/post it for people who have PMed me about it.

If you find it, I would love a copy! I'm sort of stunned, right now, by the amount of learning I need to do in the next 10 days! Better get to work and quit reading this thread 😡!

Has anybody used First Aid for the Comlex - An Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Review?

I have heard alot of people poo pooing it but is that just because people are still stuck in there "savarese ways" and dont want to change or is it just really not a good book for the comlex.

The book is supposedly "written by OMM fellows who aced the OMM portion of the comlex".

Thanks everyone!

Found the file. For sake of convenience, is there anyone that can host it and then post a link for people to download? I've had about 10 requests...

You can post it for free on www.yousendit.com . Put your email as the sender and the receiver and upload the file. Then it'll give you a link to share here to download the file. You can leave the premium delivery/password-protected/authentic deliver boxes UNchecked... Thanks 👍

Thanks for posting the file! I've been working on making my own, but yours is much more concise and crammable 👍! Were there any surprise bugs on your exam?

There is a great chart in the back of Step up to the USMLE with every drug and every bug alphabetically organized. Perhaps you guys could photocopy it from someone if you don't have the book. I thought it was great, I took the test yesterday and felt that that chart was sufficient for drugs (mostly) First Aid was kind of scattered all over the place.
