I have a situation right now. I have submitted my primary application on June 5th with my old DAT score. However, I recently found out that some of the schools I have applied to considers my DAT score old. I was satisfied with my score, but I might have to retake my DAT just for those schools. I applied to 20 schools and 7 of the schools consider my score old. I was debating if I should either throw out those 7 schools or retake my DAT. I have called and emailed those schools to ask if they can accept my score and only 2 of the schools said they will. So I decided to retake my DAT.
I have to notify the schools that I will retake my DAT and afraid that my application will not be reviewed by those other 13 schools until they receive my October score. I was wondering if my primary application will not be first batch anymore? And can I just notify those 7 schools that im retaking my DAT so that other 13 can review my application with my old DAT? Thanks for your advices!

Nothing will be looked at until they have absolutely everything from you. So if I understand this correctly, out of the 20 you applied, 5 will not consider your DAT score? I would not retake it if I were you, given that you have decent stats.

If you do not notify the schools of your retake then they will have no way of knowing you plan on retaking since it isn't included on your AADSAS application. So if I were you I would just notify the schools that won't accept your old DAT that you'll be retaking in October and most of them will likely put your application on hold. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your advice!! I hope they don't ask me to edit my AADSAS application.

You can't take it any sooner than October? That way you'll have a complete app early enough for interviews and all! Good luck

i think you should take it sooner...
i can't cus i took mine in June and had to wait 90days
if you don't then just take it

ps. i agree with only notifying the dental school that consider the score late
