I just got off the phone with Nova. The advisor said I was rejected because they were looking for a 3.7 science GPA and a 21 total science score.

I have the 21 TS, but I most definitely do not have 3.7 sGPA (not even close) and I got an interview at Nova.

Congrats on getting the interview. I hope you get accepted. When I called and asked why I was rejected, that was the response I got.

Those Nova stats are crazy. I had a friend get accepted to Nova in 2002 with a 3.2 and an 18. I applied 2 years later with similar GPA and a 19 and got an almost immediate rejection. I know that's 6 years ago but it really goes to show the quality/number of applicants Nova is now getting in a fairly short amount of time.

I'd really like to know what's going on at Nova. I think it's weird that they told you that when it's obviously not the case, because it's not as if I'm such an amazing applicant that they decided to make an exception in my case. Anyways, forget Nova, good luck with the rest of your schools!

That is strange, I got an invite with a 3.5 and 20TS, and lets not even mention the two 17's 🙁

Either way I wouldnt take it too hard, there are plenty of other schools out there, one way or another it will happen!

For those in Florida looking to do a masters program, Barry's accelerated 1 year masters program is good. Dr. Hottel and Dr. Lippman (both from Nova) said 13 students out of the 40 in the 1 year program got accepted to Nova for Fall '08, which is a very high percentage from just one school. The acceptance rates from Barry has steadily been increasing each year, according to Dr. Hottel.
