Can some one clue me in on how do schools consider someone to be in the 1st,2nd or 3rd tier? If I submit my application now in july, will i be considered 1st tier? If i'm not a competative applicant, is it to my advantage to submit my application closer to the deadline?

Only school I know that has Tiers is UOP.. and yes if you submit your app anytime before August 1st.. you're first tier.

UOP only:
Tier 1 - Applications completed between July 1 and August 1
Tier 2 - Applications completed between August 2 and September 1
Tier 3 - Applications completed September 2 through November 1

actually, i called UOP, u are only considered first tier if your pharmcas app is processed and received by UOP prior to Aug 1st, and the supplemental app is postmarked by aug 1st.

how long does it take from the day that you submit your pharmcas for them to process it and for UOP to receive it?

actually i dont think that makes much sense. Once you submit your pharmcas app, it states that pharmcas does not begin to send the app to pharmacy schools until aug 1st. Therefore they must do it by the date that pharmcas has recorded, not the date they receive it from pharmcas..

I was thinking the exact same thing, because if they had to receive it by the 1st, no one would make it to the first tier!

I think maybe they mean that all your LORS are in and your transcript has been sent to Pharmcas and is recieved by them.

Taken from UOP website..

"Pacific uses the date your items were received at PharmCAS and postmarked to Pacific to determine if your application was completed on time. Students will not be penalized for the processing time required by PharmCAS."

maybe you're right, but what ever i said before came from someone from UOP admissions.. but then again. they confuse you more whenever you ask them a question.
but maybe they mean that if the pharmcas app is completely processed prior to Aug 1st that you are considered first tier. i mean, if u just sent your pharmcas app on july 31, it wouldnt be completely processed by pharmcas until well after aug 1st ? or are you still considered first tier just by esubmitting before aug 1st?

Hopefully someone who applied last year can verify this, but I just assume as long as Pharmcas has all the necessary documents (LORS, PS, Transcript), you fill out all the necessary parts, and you e-submit, then pharmcas will recieve your application instantaneously right since its over the web?

I hope someone can verify because I don't plan on e-submitting until FRI.
