How much lower are your chances of getting into pharmacy school if you failed a class, but repeated it and aced it? This failed class being in your first semester as well.

You'll be ok, as long as you don't do poorly or fail in other classes.
Always keep your goals in mind, it'll help you stay on track academically.
Don't forget to use all the resources that you possibly can (tutoring, etc).

I don't know really but what I've heard on here is that as long as the trend with your grades is upward and not downward then it should be fine. I failed more than one class my first semester. It's a grim thing to have happen to your GPA but as long as it doesn't continue then you should be fine. What I've heard is to just be prepared to tell adcoms why you failed that class. In my case I'll have to explain a few classes but I do have a good reason for it and the fact it's in your first semester rather than in the middle of your 2nd year or something probably is good. I think it would be worse to have a good record that suddenly goes downward.

I agree with the above poster. As long as your grade trend is upward, there shouldn't be any problems. I only retook one course (Calc 2...from C- to A-), and I still received invitations and an acceptance from a school. So don't stress and try to do well esp. in those pre-pharm science classes 👍!

Okay, that's good to hear...I've learned a lot from my failure. I think I can pull off better grades, but it's going to take a whole lot for me to pull of A's in my classes from now on....time will only tell.

Also, is it better to major in something rather than just completing the pre-reqs?

CCdarling...did you get A's in everything else?
