Hi, I am beginning my sophomore year in Biological Sciences at LSU this fall. I didn't really do all that well my first semester of college (3.0 GPA
), but the past two semesters have gone very well for me. I made a 3.6 my second semester and an A in the one summer class that I have just finished.
I know many people will give the standard "I couldn't go through the transition" excuses, but I actually have a valid one. My best friend of 10 years was in a very serious car accident and was in a coma for 6 months. Her wreck was during the first week of school, and this seriously took a toll on my grades/studying. I stayed at the hospital every single day, neglecting that I had tests and homework to do.
I am wondering if this will haunt me for the rest of my pre-medical career or if constant improvement will be okay. I'm back on track and ready to make my 4.0's from here on out. Anything like this happen to any of you? And what do you guys think?
