Applying for the first time, here's my stats

BCP: 3.35
Science: 3.44
Non-science: 3.83
Overall: 3.5
-GPA has a positive upward trend starting from 3.20 in my 1st year of university and ending with a 4.0 in my last year

DAT: AA/PAT/TS/QR/RC = 20/19/21/17/20...apparently I suck at math

ECs + LORs + Research = fine

CITIZENSHIP = Canadian

I applied to A LOT of schools including all the "canadian friendly" ones.

Thanks in advance!

In my opinion, you would be competitive (but not a sure fit) if you were American and applied to like 25 schools. Canadian IDK, but it seems like most accepted Canadians have well above average stats.

Average stats for a Canadian applying to the states. Maybe even a little on the lower side. From what I've seen Canadian applicants have relatively higher stats.

as a canadian who's gone to college in both us and canada, canadian unis use a different gpa systen where anythig above 80% is A- and up. in the US, it's 90%. so canadians tend to have higher GPAs. This only applies to classes where there is no bell curve, but these classes are pretty common

Alright stats for a Canadian applicant. I suggest you apply to a bunch of schools. It sounds like you have an upward trend so that's goes in your favor for sure.

Just make sure your list of schools included all of these:
Case, NYU, Penn, BU, USC, UoP, Temple, Buffalo, Detroit Mercy and Minnesota.

Some of those schools may be a bit out of reach (Penn, UoP) but its all very unpredictable, imo, so just give it a shot. Last cycle, as a Canadian, I was flat out rejected by schools I thought I had a decent chance at (ex. NYU) and accepted at others where I felt I had little chance. All about luck after a certain point. With your numbers I'd apply to at least 10-15 school. You applied early, so that's good.

Good Luck my fellow Canuck.

Thanks, it's nice to hear some support from a Canadian!! Would you actually mind PMing your stats and where you got in just for self-reference??
