First year community college

I went to a community college my first year in college and got a straight 4.0 through, all gen ed. Second year I transferred to a university and got a GPA of 3.55 between the two semesters. I am wondering if the first year of community college will hurt a future medschool application because community college workload is substantially easier than university. Thank you.

You fine. The drop in GPA is expected when transferring. Good job getting a 4.0. Maintain above a 3.5 the last 2 years and take some upper division biology classes

My major is human biology. First course I got a 3.0 🙁 I am taking the second right now and it looks like I'll either get a 3.5 or 4.0 (my school grades in .5 increments).

Make sure you keep your GPA 3.5+ for both science and cumulative.

Nope you're good. Btw, not all CC are substantially easier than undergrad. For an example, I retook a class at my Uni that I received a C from CC and it was a walk in the park.

I did my first two years at a community college along with a few prereqs never had any question on interview.

4.0 in 2 years at community college and 3.7 in 2 years of university after here. 7 II's this cycle. Do well on your MCAT, and they won't question the rigor of your education.

Careful with this generalization. This wasn't the case for me.

University preferred. However, anecdotal evidence on the forums seems to show that pre-reqs at community colleges are perfectly fine.
