Hi everyone!

I wanted to post my report card for my first year of undergrad.

First Semester:
-English Composition One
-Psychology
-Sociology

Second Semester:
-English Composition Two
-Biology One with lab
-Anatomy&Physiology with Cadaver
-Pre-Calc
-Eastern World Geography

Summer Semester:
-Pre-Cal Two/Trig
-Biology Two with lab
-Biology field study

Projected GPA: 3.6
Total Credits: 38

E.C:
Regularly volunteering at a hospital
Phi Theta Kapa


Currently looking for a dentist to shadow.

So how did I do?
Did I start off well?
Anything recommendations?

Looks pretty sloppy, better double up on your studying or drop out now. That was my Mr Hyde. You're doing very well, although I would rather see your individual grades than overall GPA. How did you manage to take A&P as a freshman, w/o all the other requirements? And also, not a major deal, but will you be starting Gchem soon? Definately need to start that by sophmore year so you can knock out Ochem afterwards.

-Taking Gen Chem in the Fall.

-The only recommended course A&P was Bio 1. Also took A&P in high school last year so it really helped out...

The GPA is fine. Keep going you are 1/3 the way there before you have to apply.

You should be careful loading up a semester so full of difficult classes...it can be GPA suicide. You were lucky this time, but come on...English, Sociology and Psychology all at once 😱

Be careful about loading up though. If you do it over several semester you could suffer a burn out. If you can sustain your GPA while loading up though go ahead.

You should take at least 1 PE class every semester, thats what they are trying to tell you. 😛

Your grades are pretty good. Are you planning to take Chemistry? I thought most schools require Chemistry as a prereq to Biology classes. I could be wrong.

ask your dentist if you can shadow him. ask around your friends and family for dentists to shadow.

worst comes to worst just get a phone book and start calling all the dentists. keep the conversation short and to the point.

i personally dont think you need to shadow for a long time because i think shadowing is boring. i would recommend assisting after you shadowed a bit. just ask the dentist if you can help out at the office for free.

Why not wait at least until your "projected" becomes official. It is a bit unusual to take Anatomy/Physiology concurrently with Bio 1.
