How important is a “fitted” suit? If I have a suit combo that’s not exactly fitted but is not baggy either, would that be ok?
Just be sure you're comfortable wearing it. That's the main thing really. How important is a “fitted” suit? If I have a suit combo that’s not exactly fitted but is not baggy either, would that be ok?
What’s considered too long? With the suit fully buttoned, the sleeve falls to just above my knuckles. But when I’m moving my arms like when I’m giving a handshake, I can obviously maneuver my arm so fhat my entire hand is showing if that makes senseJust make sure the length and sleeves aren’t too long. If it is, take to a tailor and see how much it would cost to fix it up.

I used the same suit jacket for med school, residency, and job interviews. As long as it still looks presentable, it's fine. Get a tailor to tighten things up if needed. So I have a suit combo at home, it’s a little big on me, but nothing that’s baggy. Also, when buttoned, it’s fits really well and is comfortable. I’m over here looking at suits and their prices rn and I’m think “damn I’m not tryna pay $100-$200 (for the cheapest suits) if I don’t have to.” I also really like the quality of my suit

Just went to the tailor. I was expecting them to use tape measure but they used pins lol. Is that ok or are they rookies lol. They also said that the fitting on my back and shoulders was good.

HAHA! Isn't that from the talking heads? I also love your board name, I work in psych. lol
No $h!¥. You’re not suppose to dance during an interview
I am not ashamed to say I bought an expensive-ass suit. This is from a guy whose entire wardrobe consists of Wal*Mart polos, khakis, and cargo shorts. But I bought a really nice suit and had it fitted to look really nice on me. It is nice, it will make me stand out, but memorable in a non-flashy kind of way. I figured this is an investment in me being pretty for once. I won't wear this suit again until residency interviews (unless I end up at Mayo or their likes, but that is a different topic). Good suit/good fit > good suit/bad fit > bad suit/good fit > bad suit/bad fit > Any rapper at the grammysWhile it is important to not look like a bum, it is also important to not look too flashy (i.e. shiny ass slicked back hair, expensive jewelry/watches, visibly expensive anything, really tight suit. ). They key is for your appearance to go unnoticed.
