The pharm/disease part of the FL boards is the next two days. Good luck to all taking them. This part should rival or be tougher than NBEO part II. At least it is scored instantly (computer based testing).

The law part is sometime in the next couple of weeks (also computer based).

The clinical part is July 22,23 down at Nova.

Good luck all!!! My disease test starts in <8 hours!

Thanks for the email cpw!

No problem !! Good luck, file !! You'd better let me know how it goes !

The minute and a half it takes to grade that pharm test is the longest of your life !!

:luck:

Also, the pharm test more closely resembles PAM than Part 2. But, it's like the PAM on some serious crack.

That test was a zinger!!! But I passed it just fine. They give you 5.5 hours but it only took me about 3 hours.

Now on to the law exam!!! (July 15th)

I think it took me about three hours last year, too.

Congratulations, file !! The hardest part is over. The law is cake.

Clinical is fine if you can control your nerves. So, it was the hardest part for me. I was shaky through station one and then got under control for station two.

Good luck on clinical this weekend, File !! :luck: :luck:

how was law ? 😕

Law was not too bad. Open book you know! It took about an hour.

Clinical was tough for the first part, then I think I just about nailed the second part. We shall see how the results turn out in about 3-4 weeks.

part one of clinical was harder for me too. I also, thought I nailed the second part. Waiting for the scores is always the hardest part. I don't think I've ever hit refresh that much in my life !

I'm sure you did great, file !! :luck:

CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING DONE !!! I met some really nice people in my boards group last year.

I have already been checking the website!!! LOL

We found out today, the first day that it would be posted (between 8-8 and 8-16). I passed!!! I guess I still have to wait a few weeks for a license number🙁

YAY congratulations !!

Its already been a year since I took the FL boards. Wow time flew. The doc I work for is down in Ft Laudi Daudi (we likes to party) administering the boards again. Hence I get to be on call all weekend, yay! Not stopping me from hitting the beach...

nothing stops you from hitting the beach 😉 Have fun with 9 days in a row you psycho. Although, I admit I did that too my first year out.

I'm so glad I found this thread! I was wondering if anyone can help me out. Here's my situation: I'm currently a fourth year at UHCO and I am planning on moving to FL this year to be with my boyfriend. He is a 2nd year at NOVA studying to be DO. I heard from a resident that there is a prep course offered in FL for their boards? Does this exist? And would that increase my chances of passing? With all the $$ that I'll have to shell out just to take the test, I need all the help I can get!! Thanks in advance!!

Can anyone enlighten me on what to expect for the FL boards and what to study? Is there a prep course that could help me with it? I would really appreciate any help...please respond or PM me. Thanks!

PMing you ! One of my classmates from 2005 is taking Florida boards this year, too.

i did a lot of reasearch and from what i have learned, the Florida Boards are very difficult, reason why very few OD's from out of state come to Florida for practice.

but it definitely can be done ! My test group of six for the clinical had students from UHCO (me), IAUPR, IU, ICO and only 2 NOVAs.

thank you for your input Dr.

if i get accepted to PCO or Nova, i have to weigh that in.

Just a question- why are they difficult relative to other boards ?

Florida does not accept NBEO Part 3. So,they set up their own version of the test.. which is much harder. They only offer it once a year and they charge about $2,000 to take it. There are three parts to it : a laws and rules test, a computerized treatment test (much like the PAM, but with more complex cases) and a clinical skills exam which is taken in two parts at NOVA.

If you don't pass.. better luck next year.
