I want to get a set of flashcards to study for step 1. I want to get micro, pharm, and path cards for sure, and perhaps others as time and money permit. I've looked at the BRS, Lange, and Lippincott flash cards, and I'm not sure which ones to go with.

My observations were that the Lippincott cards seemed a bit too in depth. They could have been useful while taking the respective classes but it may not be practical for studying for step 1. BRS cards have less detailed information, and seem to be more high yeild fact driven, but it almost seems like there's too little information on them, with only 1 or 2 sentences of information per card. The Lange cards seem to be the happy medium, plus they present a case on one side of the card. If I had to pick right now I'd probably go with the Lange, but I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with either of these sets.

i purchased lange's path cards by baron and honestly for me using flash cards for this subject hasn't been helping me. so i'm just using brs review book. but for micro cards by harpavat i definetly recommend these. they've made studying for micro very easy. after reading thru either mmrs or levinson's once switch and focus only on microcards and annotate them as u go thru qbank. i can't say much about pharm cards except that most people think they're not necessary. but if u absolutely have to use flash cards for path then go with langes

I asked many post/pre test-takers about pharm cards and I found that overall Lange is the winner. It's a little less detailed than Lippincott and not as succinct as BRS. I think they're great. But more and more people are telling me that First Aid pharm is all I need. So I made my own flash cards of FA pharm to get all these hi-yield bugs and drugs down cold. It doesn't take long to do and you learn as you make them. I use them every night now, really well worth the time and effort.
