So do ER docs get any flight time AFTER residency or is it just for the experience of seeing pre-hospital medicine and such?
Just curious

Not so much after residency. There are a few companies that do fixed wing transport over long distances that need physician-accompanied transport of some patients. I knew a guy that did that as a side-gig, which is great if you're single and have last-minute travel flexibility.

MetroHealth's LifeFlight works only with physicians and has a few fulltime flight docs and plenty of residents/attendings that moonlight on the helicopter.

Yes, if you move to England.

I think the flight team in Madison, WI are all attending physicians. Don't know the specifics but I noticed they even have an anesthesiologist flying prn with them.
