So, in reviewing for FL law, I was reading one of the label requirements affixed to a container for a drug dispensed:

“Name of the patient or, if the patient is an animal, the name of the owner and the species of animal”

If a patient John Smith owned a dog named Spot, would that imply that the RX label would read as “John Smith, K-9” if dispensed in Florida?

In my current state, we would simply label the bottle as “Spot Smith, K-9”

I always typed it up as, for example, Muffin (cat) Smith.

OTOH, if the law says it has to have a human name on it, you need to find a way to squeeze it on there.
