So.....
a while back I posted this really fluffy post about how excited i was to start pre-reqs. I wrote that I was working nights full time and would be going to school full time. I said I was confident that I could do that....
well, here we are halfway through the semester and I am struggling in physics. I am doing alright in bio and chem (not as well as i'd like), but no matter what I do, I just can't get through the physics yet. So, I am left with two options:
1. Continue the course - not possible to get an A now. If I work hard at it I can get a high to low B. I've been getting Fs in all my exams (As in the labs and quizzes, all conceptual - no math. The exams are all math). If I continue on this path, I will most likely take PHY 202 and 203 the rest of the year. Here's the question: will I have mastered the material well enough to do well in the other two? How much will my other two classes suffer? Admittedly, my other two classes have been suffering because I've been so focused on physics. At this rate I will most likely do avg. I HATE THAT THOUGHT. That said, if i continue on this path i will hopefully begin medical school by 34. But, at what cost? Mediocre grades and less chances of getting into a school i chose or was high on my list?
2. Withdrawal from the course and take it next fall - If I pull out now, I can salvage what's left of the term and still get A's in the other two classes that are left. I can do two classes per term, which would set me back a year. This means I would not be in medical school until I was 35. I used to think this was not a big deal, but the closer I get there, the more the age thing is getting to me. Here's the upside: If I drop the physics course now and wait until next fall to take it, I boost my chances of doing well but not feeling like I'm being pulled in a million directions.
Working full time and going to school full time is TOUGH.
what do i do? I honestly don't know what to do. Need some sound advice. thanks.
