I have been searching high and low for a moonlighting gig. Any resources to help with this search? I am sure this is a long shot, but I am hoping for a telehealth position, so I can maximize my hours and work after hours and on weekends. I was in touch with Doctors-Now LLC but I have not heard back in a few weeks. Any suggestions? I am a 3rd year FM resident with my state license and board eligible

I didn’t do it, but the FM resident while i was in IM residency would find small hospitals/ER’s to work them a few hours away. They’d make good money.

I was offered that but really didn't want to be solo ED or inpatient coverage overnight.

When I was a resident I did weekend urgent care and I was the director of a plasma center which is super easy and they paid well.

I don't think anyone from my program has been able to find urgent care gigs. Most are staffed by midlevels almost exclusively. I suggest looking into Medicare in home evaluations and disability evaluations.

I worked at an urgent care center in the city I was in for residency. It took a few months to get credentialed so if you’re not living in same city after residency they may not want to spend time or money to credential you.

I work weekends (sometimes) in urgent care now as an attending. Usually tacks another $100k-125k to my base earnings.

Agree with Urgent care. Just start calling some of your local places and see if they can/will use residents.
We did a lot of urgent care weekends as residents, and I honestly enjoyed it.

I think moonlighting in general helps develop yourself as a doctor, wherever you do it.

Can try to see if there is a psych hospital? Here they are always looking for people to do intake H&P's. That way psychiatry only has to deal with the psych diagnosis and not everything else.
