FME role?

My wife is currently a General Practitioner and is thinking of working part time as a Forensic Medical Examiner in prisons around and near the city.

I am concerned the fact she will be exposed to dangerous people with the element of risk to being assaulted a long side the fact it will be a 12hr shift.

Any one here work or know any other FMEs? What is it really like as a career?
