So I am an applicant (3.7 GPA, 31 MCAT) to DO programs and I kind of seriously messed up. I assumed that MCAT scores are automatically updated to your AACOMAS application after you take them as long as you list your AAMC ID in the AACOMAS system. Turns out, you gotta actually send them from the AAMC site! Ok, so I messed up big time obviously and I sent them in so they should be getting verified as I type this. How much is this gonna affect me on my apps? Wouldn't having everything be submitted around the beginning of October be a death sentence?

For bone wizard school? It won't hurt a lot with your stats. I know of students that applied in March that were accepted for the same year. If you were applying MD, you'd be boned though. And not in a good way.

How long have you been waiting on verification so far? According to AACOMAS, it takes 5-7 business days for them to receive scores from AAMC, so if you're only a week or 2 into verification, it probably won't make too much difference.

Made the same mistake. I sent it in 2 weeks into verification and it got done before it was verified so he should be fine.

I've been verified and started getting secondaries. I only knew something was wrong when I checked my status after submitting my secondaries and the MCAT was "not complete." :nailbiting: Yikes!

You could send an application in November and will probably get multiple acceptances at DO school with your stats.

Because the neuroticism is taking over at this point, did you have to send your MCAT scores to AMCAS like AACOMAS? Or does this occur automatically?

Where do you find this status withint AACOMAS?
Click "manage my programs"* on the left, the scroll up and click "status"* on the right. Click the little blue box with an arrow pointing into a tray* to download/open your application.

Scroll down to your "unofficial MCAT"* page. If they received your MCAT, there will be an "official MCAT"* page directly before it.

I don't think there's a way to tell without calling them if you haven't submitted yet.

*These are all from memory so the exact wording might be slightly different.

I believe AMCAS is automatic because I've been rejected to an allopathic school and I'm sure they don't make that decision until they have your scores.

Not automatic.

Huh? Are you referring to DO or MD. I know DO is not automatic. My standardized test section of the allopathic app site says completed and when I check the websites of MD sites, it says my app is complete and under review.

So unless I did it and can't remember, I'm pretty sure the MD thing is obvious and part of the AMCAS website or something.

AMCAS is automatic, DO (& perhaps the texas app system?) you need to release scores.

You'll be fine dude, my classmate applied after he got rejected from MD school (like January) and still got in by May...Oh and they usually interview all the way to April...Grab a cold one and chill

Yea, I think I will be OK, but I'd rather just have an acceptance sooner so I can go to Peru or something...

So I had AMCAS send in mid-August but AACOMAS didn't recieve. My primary was verified last week and the secondaries are rolling in. Then I got a notification from one school with-holding the secondary until they got my official MCAT. Went back to AMCAS to have them resend it.

Will it automatically get sent to schools once AACOMAS recieves it?

Has anyone else had this problem of AACOMAS not recieving the MCAT?
It will automatically get sent to them (in that when they access your application online it will start showing up) but I don't believe they will receive notification that it's been added unless you click the "update" button at the top of your application once you see that the official score has been added.

My guess is that you'll interview in January at multiple places.
