Ok, maybe I'm just over thinking this one but why should you never give folate to a patient who is deficient in B-12? I ran across this statement in FA and can't seem to find a direct answer to it...or maybe I'm just tired of studying. :confused:

It will correct the megaloblastic anemia but NOT the underlying neurological dysfunction associated with a B12 deficiency.
