For a bit of context on how competitive the program is, a discussion with one of the admissions directors yielded they plan on taking about 3 students out of the hundreds or so applications they will receive.

Hmph interesting. Are you sure about that number? That seems very small considering the history of HuMed at Sinai. I think I read a while ago that a quarter of Sinai's class comes from HuMed. So, they should definitely be accepting more than 3 people/year. Also the program is supposed to expand in upcoming years according to the website.

That is an interesting program... wow I just found out you don't need MCAT for it, and apparently you are supposed to apply as a sophomore? Kinda confusing

Eventually FlexMed will become half of their matriculating class.

Yep, you have to be a sophomore and you don't have to take the MCAT, but honestly the program is way way beyond these two points. You should look into their website if you are interested: http://icahn.mssm.edu/education/medical-education/programs/flexmed

Also, this sdn thread has quite a lot of good info:

The Admissions Director definitely meant that they take 3 students out of every hundred or so applicants, putting the acceptance at around 3% and a class of around 25-30 out of 900+ applicants (like the class accepted last cycle).

Thanks, inycepoo! That makes more sense.
