as you probably know they require two essays and state on the app..."please limit each response to one page each"......I wrote an essay that can fit on one page but i fooled with the margins a lil and downsized the font to 11.....is this a bad idea? it's technically on one page but i dont want them to look at it and throw it out because it's obvious what i did. Thanks!!!!

Application committees look at essays all day, everyday. I think they're going to know that you were fiddling with the typeset. However, I think that as long as it's readable you'll be okay.
Just a word of advice though, they don't set arbitrary page limits for the sheer delight of it. They want to see you express yourself in as clear and concise manner as possible. Look over your essays again. Do you really need all the verbage and flowery language? I think that with a rewrite or two you'll have a much shorter, better organized, higher quality essay.

I am going to apply to Bryn Mawr as well...haven't got to the second essay part myself. I was an English major yet I have a propensity of getting wordy...so I feel your pain! What is drawing you to this school in particular? 😎
