I know this isn't medical, but I have a very close friend and her brother is in critical condition. Unfortunately it is alcohol poisoning and the doctors think he could end up never recovering.

I hope this doesn't get moved, but if anyone out there believes in the power of prayer please say one for my friend's brother. His name is Nathan. I really don't feel like there is much I can do for her and her family, but this is all I can think of.

Thanks and God bless.

Will be saying a prayer for them tonight Jezzielin including our congregation. If the thread gets moved I have faith whereever it ends we will find enough believers to raise our voice in prayer. Grace and peace!...

Okay, rude. I said if you believe that please keep him in mind. No need to post something so heartless. If you don't believe in it, then keep it to yourself. If it gives people hope why say this... I don't get it.

I simply posted a link about the discussion of prayer as means for medical healing. It wasn't meant to attack or support a prayer for your friend. A simple link to more information - nothing more.

How dare you tell me that if I were to not believe in prayer that I should keep it to myself. If it is acceptable for you to display your beliefs all over a pre-osteopathy forum then it would be just as acceptable for someone of a different faith/orientation to post their views. I keep my religious beliefs personal, you should do the same.

Best of luck to your friend.

Upon opening this link I saw that prayer had no effect on illness. I should have read more. This is all such a shock, but I apologize for jumping on you for the article. But still, I stick by saying that if someone didn't think prayer works to keep it to themselves, at least in this situation. This thread wasn't meant to be a debate.

Thanks everyone for your prayers.

No, it is still the same. My friend went home to be with her brother but I haven't heard any new news. It is approaching one week now. If his status changes I am sure she will let me know.
