the software is designed to convert the calendar year of a certain academic term to whatever academic year it was a part of. so, for example, say i was trying to enter my coursework from the spring semester of 1999. that semester took place in CALENDAR year 1999, but was actually a part of the ACADEMIC year that began in 1998 (the 98-99 school year), so the application is supposed to convert that year of that semester to read 1998--so that every semester is listed according to academic year and not calendar year. i assume that the software was programmed this way so that it would be easier for everyone to match up the academic terms within a certain academic year. all it's really done is confuse the hell out of everybody! :)

so as long as you enter the correct calendar year, let the software do whatever conversions it wants to. just make sure that YOU enter your stuff in correctly.

    good luck!
