Is there anything specific you are expected to know entering your first year of pharm school?

Other than the basic stuff you should have learned during undergrad, not really. I think most schools are going to teach you from the ground up.
 
thats the first time i've heard the term MOA. will definitly look into it.

I think you should have a decent grasp of cell bio and physiology; at least understand major concepts, you don't need to know nit-picky details of signaling pathways.
