for those non-traditional and/or older pre-med applicants, do you all have an advisor who inform you on applying to med schools? or do you just self-inform via internet and friends?

Hi,
When I applied, I was 33 and I did not have an advisor, as I was not in school. I had graduated from undergrad in 88 and was working full-time, though I was taking classes at night (like the organic and physics requirements). But since I was only part-time, I didn't have an advisor.
