I'm trying to move to a different state. I know I just apply for a license and fulfill the necessary requirements. But in the meantime, for those of you who have moved to a new state after being licensed already I have some questions please.

1) Did you have your license for that particular state before applying for the job or were you waiting until you got the job before applying for a license?

2) How were interviews conducted, were you given phone interviews, Skype maybe? Depends on company.

I think some of my classmates took it in the state they were looking to move to... Others did it in the state that we went to school in and then had it transferred after getting a job/moving. As far as interviews, a couple of my classmates were flown to whatever state for a interview after having either a phone or skype interview. I don't know of any of my classmates that moved out of state who moved without a face to face meeting at some point with the company.

I moved from Kansas City to Minnesota. I operated with a temporary license until the board of PT met and approved my formal license. It is a little bit of a pain to gather all of the recommendations etc . . . but just jump through the hoops and it will work out fine.

I was applied for licensure in Utah, but got a job in Texas. I didn't even apply for Texas licensure until after I had secured a job offer. It didn't take long for that process... a couple weeks. My interviews were all phone (with one skype interview in Washington)
