For schools that you decide not to attend, do you write to them and tell them?

Today is my deadline to most schools for me to make a decision, and I haven't told most of them anything (except the one that I plan to attend). They sent me emails and asked if I 'had any questions'........ Should I write to them and tell them what I decided to do?

Partly as a courtesy and partly as a formality -- yes, I think you should. I know it's a little cumbersome, but the schools are trying to shape their incoming classes, and they need to offer your spot to other prospective students. If your non-preferred schools have waiting lists, then your denial will open up that spot for someone else who might be waiting on pins and needles. In my case, I turned down some scholarship money at one school, so my writing to the staff let them offer the cash to someone else.

You don't need a formal letter, necessarily. Just shoot an email to the admissions coordinator saying "thank you for your offer, but I've decided on..."

Yes, you absolutely should do that. As ucnative said, a short email will suffice.
