For the Character Count on AMCAS, does it include spaces or no?

Title sums up question. (Asking for both PS and Extracurricular Activities). Pretty sure spaces count as characters but want to check as the relevant posts for this came up to be from 10-15 years ago.

Why don't you open up amcas and just type in one of the boxes to find out? Just put a bunch of spaces and see if it counts them.

Yeah, spaces count as characters towards the 5300 limit.

Just for clarification, AMCAS opens in early May for you to begin filling out. You're able to submit it for verification in early June.
