For those have interviews within 2 weeks , can expect acceptances in December?

I would assume so. I know that even though I have a couple of more interviews coming right up, I should hear something by Dec. 1st/or first week in December if they really are interested in my application.

It's certainly possible, but I wouldn't expect it.

It WILL depend on the school, but most likely you'll fall somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd round of acceptances (Jan 15. and February 15, respectively).

My logic is this: the schools already have PLENTY of capable applicants to offer acceptances to at this point. Unless your application is superb, you already have 3-4 months of applicants ahead of you on the rolling admissions list.

Those people will get acceptances, and the schools will wait to see how many people pay the deposit. That is a very key step in the admissions game. If 90% of them pay up, then the school doesn't need to send out many more acceptances. If only 20% pay up, then the school will send out lots of acceptances in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

The variable factors are how big the class size is, and how many acceptees have traditionally payed deposits to the school. Schools know all of this info and base their entire application cycle around it. For example, school X knows that to fill it's 80 person class, it usually sends out 120 acceptances on Dec. 1 (and 30% of those people pay deposits), then another 60 on January 15 (with 50% of those people paying deposits), and then another 20 on February 15 (with 50% paying that deposit) in order to reach it's class size of 80.

Another thought: it all comes down to rolling admissions. If, by chance, schools get lots of top-notch applicants in their first 2 months of interviewing, then it may be that only those applicants get acceptances on Dec 1.

So, somebody who interviewed in October and was a good applicant might not get an acceptance from school X until Jan 15., simply because the school doesn't want to send out too many acceptances and end up with more students matriculating than they can handle.
