what are you guys wearing to the orientation? I know it says "professional attire" but does that mean a complete suit? or just dress pants and a shirt....too hot for a jacket 😀

One of my friends told me we (dental students)dont have to send the electronic health history forms.Better call them up and confirm about this.

We aren't paying big bucks for nothing so it should be air conditioned in there. Shouldn't have to worry about that! And maybe your least dressy looking jacket will work.

and my quuestion is at what time does orientation starts on monday?? thanks

You guys should check up on it if you haven't..

the problem is that I took out the full 38500 from stafford and then 20,800 from citiassist..to cover full tution, books, and instruement costs.

Now what happened is, that my disimbursement amounts have split my total loan amount in half so that half is given to me for the fall semeseter and the other half will be given for the spring semester..

HOWEVER...nyu has charged the full year's amount for the instruments and vital book fee which all at the fall semester due date. So that means that i'm about 5,208 dollars short on my loan amount, because they have charged for the full years amount for books, and instruments but I was only disimbursed half the years loan amount right now.

Luckily, I have the available funds to pay for that right now (which is due on july 31st) and I will deduct $5,208 from my loan and put it back into my personal account in the spring.

But i'm just warning you guys and letting you know you should check up and make sure the same thing hasn't happened to any of you!

You can borrow up to 51,000 from citiassist but i'm only borrowing 20,800 because my living expenses/transportation and other costs are being provided by my family..

the total amount of 80 some thousand dollars they reccomend covers ure living expenes and everything including food etc, if you want to borrow that much..I only wanted to borrow the amount that would cover tution, books and instruments. I did not want to borrow more than I needed to because you do have to pay interest on those loans and as such i didn't need the full amount.

And yes all your fees must be paid by august 7th at the latest...so everyone shoudl get a move on if you haven't yet!

financial aid office will not adjust your disimbursement amounts, so if your stuck with the extra until the other half of the loan is disimbursed you must pay it now from your own pocket. Deadline is august 7th

well yes, citi is my lender for the stafford ...not for the plus loan.....i also had applied for the citi assist health prof.loan and got it certified by the school too..!eventually received a letter from citibank few months back about the disbursement dates.......but i'm going to stick to the plus loans!

well i didn't know who the lender is , i clicked on student loan as my lender ..is that ok or i need to change.. hey guys please help coz classes r starting and my loan is still on the way ..i am really tense..thanks fido...i also applied for citiassist loan as a private loan which is approved too..

When I did it, citibank was my lender for the stafford, you should contact nyu quickly and ask them who is ure lender...call the nyu dental school and ask to speak to someone in financial aid, they can help you out with everything you need...

Write down all ure q's before u call so u can ask them on the phone in detail
