Congrats on your success!

I know this can be kind of inappropriate, but could you guys decline your offers as soon as possible for the schools that you are not going to attend for sure?

you don't have to wait until the very last minute to make a deposit right?

this will make school to move up their waitlists a lot faster.

your decline could be others top choices.

thanks, and once again congrats!

Lol people always ask others to do this every year but most people don't it. The majority of people are going to take their sweet time deciding up until the last day. Sorry, but that's just how the world works. 🙄

And people may not find out right away about their top choices.

I will do that just cause I understand how it feels if I was in your shoes.

Yes, I'm between OHSU and NYU now.

I never thought I'd be holding multiple offers, and I'm very close to people who are still looking at spots at the schools I hold offers at it. Something kind of a humanizing about SDN. I'll be letting go of my offers as soon as I possibly can.

Hang in there guys.

sorry bro thats a silly request. I'm taking my time because I earned my acceptances.

People haven't even had a chance to celebrate their acceptances. Let them enjoy it for a while. It's a life altering decision so choose wisely. Take all the time you need. But don't take any longer than you need to because there are others out there (including the schools) who are waiting on you. Congrats everyone!!!

Have you read my post clearly? If you are deciding within few schools, I don't blame you, take your time as long as you want

There can be some students with many offers which they can simply rule out some schools.

If u want to enjoy the moment, go for it, but I am giving up my Western, USC, and Penn for the others

I did but its too early to make that sort of statement. I would have not responded in such a manner if you posted this a month past Dec 1st.

Besides, I don't think someone giving up a seat today is going to be any different than waiting two or three weeks. At least at most schools, which won't truly begin reconsidering applicants until after a brief hiatus. Correct me if I'm wrong.

OMG... I didn't say withdraw the offer now....

I said "as soon as possible"

For my case, I got into my state school, so I was able to simply rule out the other schools.

I am going to do that within a few days....

I got into my first choice school this morning. Easiest decision I've ever made. I've already withdrawn two other applications.

Cheers.

That's why they call it Minnesota-Nice !

Well played.

Go into the real world and try to rush somebody making 250,000$ decision. See what happens.

👍 Not to mention a decision that affects the rest of someone's entire life.

Not that I disagree with you Keaton, people shouldn't hold on to spots unnecessarily just for the sake of having the spots... but it is pretty early to start encouraging this, even if you say "as soon as possible." I think it kind of goes without saying that those who are still waiting for spots want others to drop their seats as soon as possible.

I highly doubt Master Keaton is trying to be unreasonable; I'm sure he only had the best intentions. Let's not get our panties in a bunch! 😉

Whether someone declines tomorrow or December 31 won't move the waitlists as fast as you think. There are still a lot of interviews in January.

Yeah, its going to be tough deciding. Good thing there is a deadline or I'm sure some people would never make a decision

Lol, I went a little overboard there. I know OP didn't have any bad intentions. Still this is a big deal and should not be rushed for any reason. I don't think it wrong to wait until the last possible second, even if it just to see what happens in your life.

Received 5 acceptances, only accepted 1 and called the others to decline their offers.

1) UOP - attending
2) UNLV - declined
3) Midwestern (AZ) - declined
4) USC - declined
5) Western U - declined

Hope that helps those of you looking to go to one of the 4 I withdrew from. Good Luck everyone!

I also withdrew my other apps from schools I have not heard from or interviewed at. The schools are NYU, Columbia, Loma Linda, ASDOH, UCLA. I was rejected from UPenn and UCSF.

Declined UNC today. Good luck guys!

Declined Nova, and NYU, and withdrew my interview from Case.

BTW, I thought it was funny that I had the "check back on Dec 1st" from one of the schools I interviewed at, and it was not an acceptance - it was a rejection. I like how everyone was so sure about how this meant an acceptance, when it didn't mean anything lol 👍

I have cancelled my LECOM and Case post-dec interviews so far. Someone else deserves the chance.

I suppose I was lucky to have all 3 of them turn into acceptances then. :luck:

Nevertheless... will most likely be passing up UMDNJ and NYU for those who are eyeing them! Just waiting to see the acceptance package first before I do so.

Will be declining Midwestern IL's offer when I receive the official letter from IU in the mail lol good luck everyone!

Withdrew from UCSF and Columbia today. Felt very satisfying. Good luck everyone!

All the people on this thread are just amazing!!! See how just one person's request have touched so many to follow through. At least I now know there are still good people in this world today.
Congrats to all who got accepted, you earned it and you deserve every right to celebrate. Thumbs up to all those who followed up with the OP's request, and also to those who are yet to do so.

Thanks everyone 🙂 It really means a lot to us.

people who are still waiting in this game will be very happy Thanks!!
