Did you get to see the hospital? I had my faculty interview on the med school campus, so I didn't get a chance to tour the UCI Med Center. I'm wondering what you guys thought of it (compared to other schools you've visited)-- in terms of facilities, patient population, location, etc.

Also, overall, what did you think of the school? Is anyone going there for sure next year? Thanks for your input!

uci will have a new hospital in 3 to 4 years ... so everything will be high tech ...

Nobody went to the Med Center?! Come on people at least one person has to have some input on this. I can't believe it wasn't included in the tour for everyone, it would have been nice. I've seen pics of what the new center will look like and it looks pretty snazzy.

So florence, did you get in or did you just recently interview? If I get accpeted I'll be going there next year for sure, I really liked the school.

a group of people had interviews at the medical center, but we didn't have time to look around, just to go to the interview and then go right back to the main campus. it looked ok from the outside though 🙂

Yeah, but if the hospital isn't going to be done for 4 more years, this doesn't really doesn't do us much good.

yeah, the new hospital does look snazzy... too bad it won't be completed in time for our clinical training years. I interviewed at UCI in Oct. and was accepted around Thanksgiving... I'm still waiting to hear back from other schools, but none are in California and so I'm most likely going to be at UCI! I'm quite thrilled about this. 🙂
I liked the people there, and despite its suburbian location, I think it suits me better than being in a huge city like NYC or Chicago. Plus the weather's unbeatable, the beach is so close, and you can't say no to the price tag...

Anyone else planning to attend UCI? Also, does anyone know anything about how UCI students match for residencies? I don't think I've ever seen a match list for UCI. Does that mean it's bad news?

yeah, I plan to be at uci next year too....interviewed there in october, their first interivew day, but sadly, no word from them yet ... they just don't know that I would turn dowm upenn or any ivy for uci ... and the school is two feet from where I work ...

uci, please call me ... oh, don't worry about the match list .. they match very well , I think all UCs do
