For those of you who got a DO letter of recommendation for DO schools, did you also use that letter for MD schools?

I am getting a letter of rec from a DO I shadowed, since I am applying to mostly DO schools and most of them either require or recommend a DO letter. For those of you who did the same and are also applying to MD schools, did you send that letter to the MD schools as well? I'm not sure if it would help because it mentions clinical experience through shadowing, or if it would hurt because it is from a DO and not an MD. The MD school I am applying to allows but does not require letters other than the committee letter, and I'm not sure if the DO letter would help or hurt my chances.

I included my DO letter for both MD and DO applications, as I felt that it would highlight my clinical experiences. I don't believe it hurt my application.

There are only a handful of MD schools that want anything to do with a shadowing letter. If you happen to be applying to one of those, a DO letter will be fine.
Otherwise, they are entirely useless whether from an MD or DO.
