Wait for a good letter of recommendation this cycle or use a lukewarm letter right now?

Hello,

I am currently waiting on a letter of recommendation from a PI who I worked extensively with. I know that she will write a comprehensive letter of evaluation for me. However, she just extended the deadline for this letter to September 15th. As I am trying to apply this cycle, I am wondering if I should just use another letter from a science professor who barely knew me but agreed to write a letter for me (and this one is already received). This is my last required letter to complete.

Basically, should I wait for a good LOR at the cost of late secondary completion?

Late as in 9 days from now?? Wait for that letter. It wll be worth it. I would not say the same if the professor offered to get it out by Nov 1.
