A bunch of practice orals with attendings in my hospital, and attending my department's grand rounds/M&M. Our chairman makes each case a teaching case. Also took the Ho course, more for my peace of mind. In retrospect it wasn't absolutely necessary, but it did help build my confidence.

board stiff three

I liked Board Stiff 2 (Too), but I recall that it claimed to have a case discussion that was flawed just to see if we were paying attention. I found it very distracting reading through the explanations wondering if that was the bull$hit passage that I needed to watch out for. So I hocked mine on Amazon before reading all the way through it.

Does Board Stiff 3 also contain a similar distractor passage?

I attended a Michael Ho course that I thought was excellent. I also used Niels Spiels by Jensen for quick differential lists (I am selling this with a free copy of Board Stiff Too on the classified boards...PM me if interested), Board Stiff Too (see above), and an occasional glance at Yao and Artusios book. I think if you do the Board Stiff book and either Jensen or Ho you will pass. Good luck to everyone in October.

Michael Ho study materials and review course.

Hey-

Is this the same Michael Ho from Hospital for Special Surgery? If so, that guy is a really cool, laid back, and smart guy.

I don't think so. I think he's from Texas, at least from his email address and the references he made. But he really is a good lecturer, smart, and a nice person. I was drained at the end of his long days, but he seemed to have the same amount of energy as at the beginning.

If you guys are like me, I would give the same advice that I received: the 4 day course is just right in terms of length -- 6 days will be too long and 2 days will be too short.
