I just wanted to start a thread of those who have interviewed at Wake Forest and have gotten a decision. If you don't mind, please give your stats: MCAT, GPA, etc. Thanks.

Why are you posting this in the reapplicant forum? Anyways, I am a reapplicant who is a NC resident with a 30/3.85 and I've interviewed at Wake Forest twice. Waitlisted last year, and waitlisted this year.

I am a reapplicant. Is the 30 from a retake of the mcats or your original score? I was also waitlisted last year.

30 is my original score. I would never take that test again.

I also was waitlisted last year and am back on the waitlist again this year. I also have a 30. My overall GPA/SCI GPA is 3.56/3.79. Last year though, I interviewed in March, this year it was November. Good Luck. I went to school with someone else though that was waitlisted last year and then got accepted in April/May, however he had a 35 or 36.

It's good to know I'm not the only one. Did you think your interview went alright? I thought my interviews went fine for the most part. I wonder what they're looking for? Last year I interviewed in Feb and this year in Oct, waitlisted this year in October. I've heard that a lot of people get in off the waitlist, so we'll see. Godd luck to you.

Thanks for your responses. Best of luck to all of you. If you guys don't mind. What kind of EC's did you guys have. Thanks.

This year I thought my interviews went fairly well. At least, better than last year ... Last year I had an interviewer at Wake who during the interview was leaning back in his chair, methodically fiddling with his fingers and seemed very distant. He was speaking at one point, and as I attempted to show that I was actively listening (leaning forward, smiling and nodding with perhaps a nervious "ha"), he stopped and said in a very distinct accent that I can't possibly convey via this message board, "Why are you laughing?!? This is a no funny!" That pretty much shocked, startled and confused the hell out of me; pretty strange. Later on during the interview though he asked me something and after pausing for a moment, replied, "hmmm... this is a very good answer... very good."

I guess that since that didn't happen again, I'll consider it a "good" interview. Good luck to you too though. At least we're interviewing earlier this time around.

Hey young bucks.... I'm a a 4th year med student at wake. It sounds like your MCATs and GPA's are more than enough to get you in to wake forest. Granted, I applied 5 years ago, but my MCAT was a 28 and my GPA was a 3.8. I was waitlisted and then got in off the waitlist in may. I had some research, lots of extracurriculars and honors, and very active in social things (plus my cousin was a med student at wake).

Anyway, my advice to you guys is TO CALL THE ADMISSIONS PEOPLE if you are serious about wake forest. They put a lot of stock into people who they feel will come to wake forest if they are granted acceptance. They really try to weed out people who are just interviewing to fill time, and would rather go to UNC or are using wake as a backup. I didn't even get an interview until I called. Also, most of my friends at wake also got in off the waitlist... I think it's part of the game they play. If you get waitlisted and make no effort to pursue the program, they will probably forget about you. On the other hand, if you show genuine interest than I think there's a great chance they will accept you!

Good luck...
