Is this the marker that the testing center provide?

I have been trying to practice with it on the board, but it is horrible. Maybe because I am so used to using sharp pens.

It seems to dry out so fast, and if I don't use it for like 30 secs (with the cap closed) and retry to use it, it wouldn't come out nicely at once... and it's thick... anyone having (or had) the same problem? Or maybe I am not using the right one...?

Thats it...I took it today 8-3-09 and yes it drys up fast and you have to write really big for your writing to be readable. But dont let it be a distraction

It's fat. It dries out quick. Be sure to replace cap between questions. Like last poster said you have to write big and you will have to take precious time to erase your paper. It sucks but...it is what it is.

1.Do they only give you one marker?

2. Do they give you only one 2 sided lamenated sheet?

they gave me two markers, two sheets, and one eraser. some people on here stated that they asked for more markers initially and got them, but when i asked them for more they said they can only give two out at a time so that rule depends on the site.

So, you had to stick with two until PAT was over? Or, did you ask for more after NS?

I'm really thinking it's dependent on how much usage the marker has seen
yes, that's the marker
yes, it's fat and you have to write huge for numbers to stay legible
I tested both of mine prior to entering the examination room, and they both seemed full of (ink?), so I would recommend that to you as well
all that said, I probably used mine for a total of 6 questions lol

I wish they all used pencil and paper. Does anyone know if the one in Houston uses pencil/paper?

Did anyone try the erase-board from scienceaide.com? Maybe this board sucks that marker is not working as it should. I hate this marker and board situation...

It's not as bad as you think, I practiced with the one Kaplan gives you and it was basically the exact same board. Yes you have to write big, I had one fine tip marker but it didn't work that great so I used the other one, it was more medium really, wasn't one of the fat ones, but not super thin. I was really worried about it erasing while I was doing RC because I'm left handed, and dry erase usually smears all over the place but the boards they gave me were so dirty the ink didn't erase as easily, and it worked out.

thanks. Where did u take it? And were the proctors nice?
i took my test in glendale, ca. the proctors were pretty nice. during the break, i came out and asked to get 2 of my markers replaced. when i came back to my station, the proctor left me 3 extra markers that were new!

I freaked out before hand about the marker and board, why cant they just allow pencil and paper. The marker kind of started drying up on me after the PAT, so I switched during the break to the other marker they gave me.
Its really not so bad, there is nothing to freak out about!! That is the marker they use though

Glad to see someone else is wondering about the brand and model of the marker lol, when I called to confirm my appointment and all, I asked about the marker (brand, size, color) and I think that woman must think I'm crazy.

thats the one i used.....i practiced with a fatter one and so it felt good to use that one during the test...

the problem was not the pen for me but it was the stupid piece of crap eraser that dont know how to erase....
