Hi, I have my interview at UTMB this Friday and wondering if it is appropriate to discuss my rather low MCAT score with the interviewers. I've talked with my counselor and she said I shouldn't because it's a negative thing and should avoid anything that's negative. But I really want to know my chance of getting accepted with my MCAT score. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

hmm...well i can offer you my opinion...if the score is really low, i.e. noticeably low and you're not being overly harsh (i.e no "omg i got a 30 and that's crap") i think it's good to just mention why at the very end of the interview, if all else has been going well. that is, assuming you have a good reason to explain the low score.

my $.02--go with your gut feeling!

Well, what's your explanation? If you got a low score because you had a 107 degree fever or you were in active labor or something, then yeah, I would discuss it. If your explanation involves the phrase, "I've never been a good standardized test taker," or some other non-explanation, then I would not bring it up.

Good luck!
