Hey Guys,

I've been working on a clinical project and am writing an abstract. I was wondering, aside from my own med school, if any students had presented their research at national conferences. What organizations did you present at? I am looking into various ones. my research is in cardiology

I presented a poster at the international American Thoracic Society conference two years ago (pediatric surgery/lung development/CDH research). I was nervous as hell. I thought I was going to just be standing with my poster, talking about my research and all, but it turned out to be a poster-discussion session, where everybody walked around and looked at the posters in the session, then sat down and TALKED about them. So I had to get up in front of all these PhDs and talk about my stuff in relation to theirs, and field questions. It was still an amazing experience, and they were fairly understanding that I was an undergrad at the time.

Does your PI attend any conferences regularly? I think that's the easiest way to go about doing it...
