i took tpr over the summer so it's not the same if you're in school right now. you have tons of other stuff to do so it's a bit harder to micromanage and you have to be extremely diligent.
the key for improving on the mcat in my opinion is to follow the syllabus to the T. that big workbook you have? by the time you finish your class, you should have every passage and discrete in there completed.
do ALL problems for each section. why? to drill it into your head mind-numbingly so much that you won't forget it in 3 months and it's an automatic reflex when you answer questions. don't even worry about 'not having enough practice material' or 'leaving a few questions for a certain subject to review later'. any topics you aren't strong in will be exploited by the TPR weekly full lengths and AAMC exams
if you have to decide between one or the other, do AAMC. if you need basic science review/refine skills, definitely go with TPR full lengths.
