Quick question, under selection factors for each med school there are three categories:

community service; volunteer , medically related work, and research.

What exactly can be considered medically related work?

where would shadowing doctors fall?

Also what are your opinions, have the median scores of accepted applicants increased or decreased from past years?

Things like EMT, phlebotomist, CNA, PCA, etc would be considered medically related work.

This question is often asked. For AMCAS purposes, most people list their shadowing experiences under the subheading "Other". The next closed thing might be "Volunteering" but that doesn't really count unless you're actually there to help the doc... which is usually not the case.

They've definitely increased.
